About Łagów Landscape Park

Łagów Landscape Park (Łagowski Park Krajobrazowy) is located in the Lubusz Voivodeship of western Poland, encompassing an area characterized by its glacially formed landscapes, including rolling hills, numerous lakes, and extensive mixed forests. Established in 1985, the park aims to protect the unique natural and cultural heritage of the region. The centerpiece of the park is the picturesque Łagów isthmus located between Lake Łagowskie and Lake Ciecz, with vibrant wetland ecosystems and a mix of coniferous and deciduous woods providing habitat for a range of wildlife, including otters, rare bird species, and various amphibians.

The park's historical significance is highlighted by the medieval Łagów Castle which sits atop a hill overlooking the lakes and plays a vital role as a cultural landmark and visitor attraction. Outdoor enthusiasts appreciate the park for hiking, birdwatching, cycling, and water sports such as kayaking on the calm waters of the lakes. Numerous nature trails, some circular, provide scenic views of the water and woodland, while less traveled paths offer solitude and encounters with diverse flora including protected orchid species. The area's tranquil atmosphere and accessibility from nearby towns make it a favored spot for day trips and longer stays.

The park is also part of the Natura 2000 network, ensuring ongoing conservation efforts to balance recreation with environmental protection. Visitors come to enjoy the blend of natural beauty, historical ambiance, and opportunities for active exploration in a relatively undeveloped landscape.
